Modular Video and Audio Routers, Able to Fit Into a Single Frame, Are At Heart of New Space-Saving System

LAS VEGAS, NEV., MONDAY, APRIL 18, 2005 – Sigma Electronics, Inc., an innovator of high-qual ity, cost-effective digital and analog switching, generation, and distribution products for television, radio, and cable, announced today the introduction of the Sigma Dagger Series compact routers, a series of economical standard-definition and high-definition video and AES audio routers designed to fit into a single modular frame.

The Sigma Dagger Router series was introduced at the National Association of Broadcasters convention (NAB), held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Sigma is in Booth SU10345.

The Dagger series’ unique design enables multiple layers of 16 X 16 compact audio and video routers to be combined in the same frame, enabling a wide diversity of switching for any size facility and housed together in a space-efficient frame. The modules, designed by Sigma, provide a wide variety of signal formats -- high quality HD/SDI multi-format, SDI, and AES.

All HD/SDI and SDI routers include input equalization and reclocking of all outputs.

A variety of useful audio and video matrix sizes are available for inclusion in a Dagger system. These include a 16 X 16 HD/SDI Router, 16 X 2 HD/SDI Router, 8 X 8 HD/SDI router, 16 X 16 SDI router, and a 16 X 16 AES Digital Audio Router, Each system comes with a compatible control panel, and is, depending on modules included, either 1RU or 2RU in size.
