Sigma Electronics Wins Two Best-of-Show Awards at NAB 2005
Broadcast Engineering and TV Technology Magazines Cite Sigma’s Arbalest A/V Synchronization as Winner in Their Annual NAB Competitions
East Petersburg, PA., April 25, 2005 – Sigma Electronics, Inc., an innovator of high-qual ity, cost-effective digital and analog switching, generation, and distribution products for television, radio, and cable, announced today its new Arbalest Advanced Digital Audio-to-video Synchronization has won best-of-show awards at the National Association of Broadcasting (NAB) Conference & Exhibition from Broadcast Engineering and TV Technology, two of the broadcast industry’s leading trade journals.
Broadcast Engineering named Sigma’s Arbalest technology one of its 2005 Pick Hits, one of 40 products chosen, along with new systems from Panasonic, Ikegami, Leitch and Snell & Wilcox. According to editor Brad Dick, an independent group of editors scoured the thousands of products being presented at NAB for its prize selections.
TV Technology’s STAR Awards (for Superior Technology Award Recipient) are designed to celebrate and showcase the preeminent technological innovations available to the broadcast industry. A panel of judges consisting of TV Technology editors and columnists reviewed a variety of products, examined the technical applications and their overall contribution to the industry, and then submitted their award nominees.
"Our panel of editors walked the show floor in search of innovative and ground-breaking new products," said Tom Butts, TV Technology Editor. "The products and technology we selected made the cut - they demonstrated their ability to help advance the acquisition and dissemination of audio and video in the professional video marketplace."
“We promised the industry that we would produce a series of cutting-edge new products that would be firmly in the innovation tradition of our 20-year company,” said Bill Swilley, president and CEO of Sigma Electronics. “We’re enormously pleased and proud that our new Arbalest technology won the recognition, at NAB, of these two leading broadcast publications. The awards confirm the pride and the respect we have for the Sigma engineering team, who worked beyond the call of duty to create the world’s most advanced A/V synchronization system.”
